You still expect amnesty? - A Haiku.

They sin with the sun
Begging forgiveness by night
Expect amnesty?

Some people make mistakes, knowingly or unknowingly. When the folly is realized, some apologize and others don't! I believe in forgiving and forgetting. But what when people commit mistakes all the time. Over and again. Not genuine ones. The ones which they commit taking others for granted. Knowing they'll be forgiven. And when after a saturation point, forgiveness is refused.. they still fight for amnesty? Seriously?

This Haiku is written for The Heights of Haiku - April 2012. The prompt for today is 'FORGIVE'.

  3. I liked your point of view!...Forgiveness has no meaning...if it is taken for granted that people always forgive no matter what you do!
    Beautifully written!

    1. Yes, they get it. I see not no point other than we saying in optimism that "it is to make them change". but they never do, most of the time. at least during the time it really matters.

    2. Ramesh ji... yes, they do get it.. and if they don't, they soon shrug and move on.. both ways the good ones suffer!

  5. wow.. so apt..I know of an aunt of mine who spends her first hours of the first part of the morning praying and she must be one of the meanest hearted people I know.

    1. :D very common, if we carefully observe. And men don't even do that bit of prayers.

the world learned to fake, so very skillfully.

    2. I ve seen this kinda ppl too... very many!!! They use prayers just for their internal satisfaction that their sins are forgiven , to make way for more soon!

  8. If its done in sincerity, forgiveness is a gracious thing. Men count how many times we forgive and forget, but look at our Lord, He forgives all the time.

    1. True... but after a certain number of times, God wouldn't forgive without a lesson taqught, would He? That's what Karma is all about! :)

  9. Beautiful...mistakes when committed frequently and also not genuine ones border on the category of crimes...amnesty for the same?.....
