Staying on safe shore
In love with beauty of life
Battle ship arrives
Waves transport
Other shore awaits
Unlocked challenges
Calm waters welcome
Unfamiliarity breeds
Waves will rise again?
When we get accustomed to a way of life, familiarity is very comforting. We run away from change and get used to being contented with what we have. Being contented is nice, but not when we can achieve much much more. Change is always hard to deal with. When we climb our battle ship transporting us to our new destination, we flinch! Even the calmness seems to be scary, even though the previous place had been a rage. What matters to us then is the fact that it's unfamiliar. And that fear of the unknown hampers our steps. But we forget we are humans. We are programmed to adjust to the new surroundings very fast. Time will pass by, the calm waters will find waves again, until one fine day when yet another battle will needs us to fight yet another battle of life. So why not be prepared without hanging our hearts on our sleeves?
This Haiku is written for The OSI. The prompt for the week is 'IN LOVE WITH LIFE'.
Also written for the Haiku Heights. The prompt being 'LOCK' .
I loved the use of metaphors here.... indeed we must challenge and come out of our shells... thanks for this..
ReplyDeleteIndeed... My pleasure Tarun... !
Deletevery nice. Waves will rise again...for sure
ReplyDeleteThank you! That's the hope.. :)
DeleteI always believe we can achieve a lot more than what we have, but for that too, a sense of contentment to have gotten so far is needed. Else we don't appreciate what we do have in our quest to get more.
ReplyDeleteThe waves of change are always swelling up, so the rise is inevitable.
