Hymns heard within - Haiku 'I'

Courtesy

Velvety smoke
Rising senses float
Fragrant thoughts, my vicinity

~

Crumpled aroma
Ambience triggers the divine
Hymns heard within

This Haiku is written for the April A2Z Heights at Haiku Heights. The prompt for the day is 'INCENSE'.

  5. What I loved about your recent haiku is that you have stopped following the 5-7-5 format, and that adds an extra bit of lucid charm in your words ... I have read somewhere that 5-7-5 was meant for the Japanese syllables and are not appropriate for the English formats ... rather, I always felt that these restrictions made a Haiku seem heavier when written in a strict "5-7-5" format.

It's always a pleasure reading your haiku ... perhaps you may not know, but during my initial days I learnt a lot about haiku from your blog :-)
