Waves teach a fresh start - A Haiku.

 Erasing footprints
Blank sand left on wailing shore
Waves teach a fresh start

Every wave comes along the shore every second erasing every little sign of what was there earlier. No it doesn't forget, but it clears. It tells us it's not possible to easily forget and move on.. but it's possible to begin afresh, have a new beginning.. a new start. It's possible to begin with a clean slate at any moment we choose to. Like the waves, every second our thought waves will give us a clear mind, provided we want it! So learn from the waves to make a new beginning.

This Haiku is written for The Heights of Haiku - April 2012. The word for today was 'WAVES'.

    2. but the try, to begin anew, that is so very painful. none can speak us out of the walls that we imprisoned ourselves in, but us. and truth be told, nature can, too.

something bad happens, which many a time one doesn't deserve, and so he falls into an abyss of self pity, endangering his life. only solitude, self-realization could bring people back to their sane minds, and nature, as you have said, would truly help. waves.

    3. I couldn't agree more... at the end o the day it's the will power of a person that matters most...! The strong hearted survive, and the weak hearted need to strive hard, go beyond themselves in order to succeed!

    4. yes. this is the beauty of haiku, i see. 3 lines. and the true extent of the meaning is oceans.

we write "waves" and mean "oceans".
